- Want your document to be given a final, professional proofreading to catch any errors or typos you might have missed after you read it the 500th time
- Need an objective, third party to correct and comment on your project
- Know you have weak areas such as grammar or wording
- Need a thorough editing job, from spotting typos and inconsistencies to formatting citations
- Are pulling together a portfolio for promotion or a college application, and don't want silly mistakes to color others' impressions of you
- Need help with American or British English. I am a British expat who has taught English in both countries
- Want someone who won't pretend to know what she doesn't. I will always check, double-check, and research any details I am not sure about

What I won't do
- Your homework. I will edit and comment on your essay to the extent that I would as your English teacher - that is, not reword it for you.
- Help you write a bestseller! While I am familiar with the markets in several genres, I am not a professional agent or publisher. I can, however, help keep your manuscript from being thrown on the slush pile due to sloppy editing.
- Any project that makes me uncomfortable. This includes, but is not limited to, graphic sex and/or violence, or content that demeans any individual or group inhabiting our planet. Except Brussels sprouts.
- Any project I feel is beyond my expertise. In such cases, I will do my best to refer you to another source of help.
