I've...Great breakdown on how to do this, Susan. I've also known writers to allow themselves those first few chapters of backstory info on the draft. Let it ALL be backstory data so that you, the author, get it out of your system. Then launch into the story and after you've finished the draft, chop the backstory out. LOL P.S.
